Cyber Aware (NCSC)

Cyber Aware (formerly Cyber Streetwise) aims to drive behaviour change to help individuals to help protect themselves from cyber criminals: install the latest software and app updates and use a strong, separate password for your email. This is based on expert advice from the National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ.

Cyber Action Plan (NCSC)

Answer a few simple questions to get a free personalised action plan that lists what you or your organisation can do right now to protect against cyber attack.

Report it to Action Fraud

The service is run by the City of London Police working alongside the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) who are responsible for assessment of the reports and to ensure that your fraud reports reach the right place. The City of London Police is the national policing lead for economic crime.

SERS (NCSC)

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) has the power to investigate and remove scam email addresses and websites. It’s free to report a suspicious email to us and it only takes a minute. By reporting phishing attempts you can:

  • reduce the amount of scam emails you receive
  • make yourself a harder target for scammers
  • protect others from cyber crime online

STRS (NCSC)

The purpose of a scam text message is often to get you to click a link. This will take you to a website which criminals use to download viruses to your computer, or steal passwords or other personal information. Reporting a suspicious text is free and only takes a minute. By reporting, you can:

  • reduce the amount of scam texts you receive
  • make yourself a harder target for scammers
  • protect others from cyber crime online

Whether it’s your email, a social media account, or your online bank, losing access to a digital account can be stressful. This guidance explains what you can do to minimise the damage, and how you can regain access to your accounts.
